PARKERSBURG - Wood County commissioners voted to give the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport up to $5,000 to be used on advertising new lower airfares. Bathurst’s Joshua Simpson has made the State finals of the Australian Poetry Slam. After winning his heat in Orange Joshua will perform his work “Poetry” at the State Library on Friday. He will be joined by Orange rapper Shannon Elliot. Their airfares and accommodation in Sydney will be paid by contest organisers. Joshua, 28, admits most people are surprised to learn he is a poet.
